Lau Shau Ching graduated from the School of Drama, HK Academy for Performing Arts in 2000 and joined the HKRep in 2001. He played in Secret of Resurrection, A Matter of 4x6, A Dream Like a Dream, Let Me Love Once, Love In a Fallen City, Formula of a Thunderstorm, The Eccentricities of a Nightingale, Haunted, Haunted Little Star, Departure 00:00, Sweet & Sour Hong Kong, Shall We Go To Mars?, Peach Blossom Fan, Cabaret and February 14, (Rep 2 Series) Boxer and Peter Pan.

Lau Shau Ching was the director's assistant of Rape Virus and played in Red Boat (Emperor Theare Production), Crimson in a Haunted Theatre and The Mannequin (Drama Gallery). Lau also appeared in the movie Princess D and several TV advertisments.

Lau was awarded Outstanding Actor for his work of the Scarecrow in The Wizard Of Oz and the Moon in Blood Wedding (Academy productions). In 2002 and 2004, he was awarded Best Supporting Actor (Comedy/Farce) at the HK Drama Awards for his work in The Mannequin and Best Supporting Actor (Tragedy/Drama) in Departure 00:00. In 2005, Lau was nominated Best Supporting Actor (Tragedy/Drama) for his work of Tony in Shall We Go To Mars?. In 2006, He was nominated Best Supporting Actor (Comedy/Farce) at 15th HK Drama Awards for February 14.
