A fine and experienced actress, Pang Hang Ying has been nominated numerous times for the Hong Kong Drama Awards and received four such awards to date, testaments of her reputation within the theatre profession.
Since joining the HKREP in 1994, she has created many unforgettable roles: Yelena Andreyevna in Uncle Vanya, Mrs. Pai in Love in a Fallen City, Bai Niu in Secret of Resurrection, Charlotte Hay in Moon Over Buffalo, and Annette in Le Dieu du carnage, also including her recent performance as Yuan Shi-Kai¡¦s wife in Reverie on an Empire, all of whom have won her countless fans.
Pang¡¦s consummate acting skills have garnered her two Hong Kong Drama Awards as Best Supporting Actress (Tragedy/Drama) in 1997 and 2002, for The Shadow Box and Love in a Fallen City respectively. In 2007, she was again awarded Best Supporting Actress (Comedy/Farce) for Calling. Most recently, in 2011, she was awarded Best Actress (Comedy/Farce) for Le Dieu du carnage.
Apart from acting, Pang has contributed to the HKREP in capacities within the creative team, among them assistant director for SCROOGE - the Musical and creative collaborator in Papa Mama, Thy Wind Blows Forever.
Pang Hang Ying is a graduate majoring in acting of the School of Drama, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
