A distinguished local actor, Sun Wai Keung joined the HKREP in 1994. An expert at portraying the common man with the use of body gestures and tonal inflections, he has starred in such productions as Art, Secret Love in Peach Blossom Land, A Flea in Her Ear and Dr. Tim Ding・s Factory, bringing joy and laughter to the audience. Sun・s portrayals of the internal struggles of tragic characters are also remarkable: his performances in The Crucible, Whose Life Is It Anyway?, Zheng He and The Emperor and Caligula fully display his artistry and appeal.

Having been nominated eight times at the Hong Kong Drama Awards for productions including Before the Rain Stops, The Native Son of Beijing, An Absolute Turkey, Blindness and A Flea in Her Ear, Sun was awarded three times as : Best Supporting Actor (Tragedy/Drama) for A Dream Like a Dream in 2003, Best Actor (Tragedy/Drama) for Whose Life Is It Anyway? in 2006, and Best Actor (Comedy/Farce) for Art in 2008.

Sun was the assistant director of From Sunset to Sunrise and Xi Nai On Rock, co-playwright of The Lost and Found Trilogy, and story creator of Detective Woman produced by the Drama Gallery. He also presented his script A Night of Love Songs in the Prospect Theatre・s Playwright Scheme III. Sun was the designated vocal and singing artist in Cantonese for the Walt Disney cartoon character Winnie-the-Pooh.

Sun is a graduate majoring in acting of the School of Drama, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
