The most acclaimed work by French woman playwright Yasmina Reza, Art is a clever piece of black comedy. The story depicts three men and how these close friends fall out over a painting. It is a funny, poignant and thought-provoking tale about friendship and life.
Art premiered in Paris in 1994 and immediately won accolades from international theatre circles. The play has been translated into 36 languages, having reached out to audiences worldwide. It has since picked up numerous drama awards, including the Tony Award, making Reza is the first non-English speaking playwright to win a Tony Award for Best Drama.
Art will return to the stage in May this year, as an event of "Le French May".
