Boundless Movement (2009 New Version) |
|
Chinese people can be found all over the globe, just as grass appears on every inch of soil.
At the turn of the last century, millions of Chinese pondered their own identity…
Chung King Fai and Raymond To’s 1988 HKRep classic captures the spirit of the 1911 Revolution. This Year HKRep Bring a New Revival of Boundless Movement, it is a moving yet intimate and light-hearted portrait of the bravery and struggles of revolutionary heroes.
The play’s Chinese title means “fragrant grass everywhere.” Under Raymond To’s pen, grass symbolizes Chinese-style determination, steadfastness, and courage. How grass multiplies mirrors how hope springs eternal under dire circumstances.
