Writing criticisms against good friends during the cultural revolution; three marriages; the lack of a single satisfactory work after the Liberation; millions of social events and daily mundane activities standing between the writer and his creativity, or, does he feel his talent is becoming to an end? Alone on his deathbed, all his lifeˇ¦s regrets and struggles come back: his mother who died early, his three wives, his writer friends, his characters in his playˇK all the tangled emotions in the past are weaved into a tapestry of dreams and illusion.
